Baptiste LOPRIENO

Born in Grenoble in 1987 and graduate from the ESAD with a master degree in 2015 (Grenoble's Fine Arts School), I am a french conceptual artist, photographer and designer who lives and works between Grenoble, France, and Lódz, Poland. 

I won the "COGEDIM" contest of sculpture in 2014, a creation of a fresco/sculpture in the entrance hall of a building in Bouchayer-Viallet, an old industrial district in Grenoble and the "Przecieki Sztuki" contest for an installation in the park Staromiejski in the city of Lodz in Poland.

My work focuses on space and geometry and question the impact that a piece of art can have on our perception of a matter or a reality, questionning the public and interacting with in a specific environment/architecture.

 

To do so, I create works with minimalist forms sometimes based on mathematical principles or physical phenomena such as magnetism, balance or optics but also inspired by the news or some specific architecture.

To create, I use any matters that fit to the project with a tendancy for wood and steel that I keep raw to preserve the aspect and the force that the matter offers, to examine it as such, for its aesthetic qualities and materiality.

2017

- Laureate of the contest  "Przecieki Sztuki", an installation project in a park of the city of Lódz in Poland.

 

2016

- Installations "Architectures Textiles" in the village of Mirmande, France. 
- Personnal exhibition "Chapelle Magnétique" for the Art festival L'Art et la matière, Saint-Christophe-et-le-Laris, France.
- Collective exhibition "13 à l'aise" at "La Théorie des Espaces Courbes" in Voiron, France.

2015

- Exhibition "Architectures magnétiques" at the gallery of the ESAD, Grenoble.
- Participation to The Biennale of Design of Saint-Etienne with the project ART-LAB, installation of a serie of furnitures called "Post-sit", Saint- Etienne, France.
- Exhibition "Cet obscur objet de design", I designed "U sit and read" a bookcase/chair at the ENSAG, (Grenoble's School of Architecture).
- Exhibition "Vient de sortir" in Valence, France.

- Exhibition "Résonances" at the Hôtel de Croy Chanel, in a private interior court in Grenoble.
- Laureate of the Cogedim contest, creation of a Fresco/Sculpture in the entrance hall of a building in Bouchayer-Viallet, an old industirial district in Grenoble.
- Exhibition "Industrip"; serie of photographs of abandonned factories of Lódz, Poland. 
- Exhibition "RAZEM", serie of photographs of WI-MA factories for the Fotofestiwal of Lódz, Poland.

- Collective exhibition "DEEP”, at the ESAD.
 

2012

- Collective wall painting exhibition “INFINI” with twelve other students at the ESAD, Grenoble.
- Exhibition “Avatars de Rousseau” at the Municipal Library of Grenoble,  I worked on one installation and on the scenography with Ludovic Burel.
- Internship at the Art Center of Pougues-les-eaux, "Parc Saint Léger", I helped Jean-Pascal FLAVIEN, an international artist to build his “Breathing House”.
